Also enjoyed an outstanding academic career as a member of EMU's Athletic Honor Roll...Named Most Valuable Player on the 1977-78 basketball team... Set records in the shot put and discus for the EMU track team... Went on to enjoy great success as an amateur softball player... Played on World Championship softball teams for Little Caesar's, Steele's and Empress Chili... Named Most Valuable Player in the 1984 World Softball Tournament held in Southgate... Names to several All-World teams in the United States Slowpitch Softball Association women's major division... Inducted into the United States Softball Association Hall of Fame in the major player category in 1985 and selected to the state of Michigan Hall of Fame in 1986... Member of the all-time All-World United States Slowpitch Softball Association Hall of Fame... Inducted into the Ann Arbor Huron River Rat Athletic Hall of Fame in 2001.
