Lettered in football, basketball, and baseball... Captain of the baseball team... Signed a professional baseball contract with the Detroit Tigers after his junior year... Spent five years in the minor leagues and was an All-Star in four of those seasons before a broken ankle ended his playing career... Coached at Ypsilanti High School for 25 years and never had a losing season... His Ypsilanti basketball teams went to the regional finals twice... Won the Bill Foy Cup as the top four-year athlete at Ypsilanti High School... Founded the first basketball team at Cleary College.
